Past Present Future
I was introduced to a world of ‘extreme dress-ups’ and vast amounts of ‘treasure’ as a model in the 1980’s. This experience nurtured my eye for detail, quality and design as I was exposed to a plethora of innovative and desirous objects, ideas and styles.
In my art career, my ‘treasure’ is found in Nature. In my wardrobe ‘treasures’ have been most often found in the vintage realm.
I have also been a beneficiary of a beautiful and stylish woman who travelled Europe in the 1950’s and 60’s as an ice skater in the touring show ‘Holiday On Ice”. She brought home her many treasures. Some of the items in this collection are from her travels and are indicated with her initials P.C.
My enjoyment of ‘dressing up’ still lingers, but now I live in the country and being essentially a practical girl (with few openings or events to attend) my collected treasures too often lie in drawers in the dark. Now is their chance to continue their journey with other women and become part of their future stories………………………..
As well as continuing gallery exhibitions my future involves a new venture facilitating outdoor 1-day workshops called “Collaborations With Nature”. These workshops will focus on Ephemeral Art making – transient sculptures inspired by our incredible natural environments, resulting in a unique and treasured experience.
Maybe I’ll see you out there – I’ll be wearing a pair of Blundstones, a fancy hat …
